GOTRIbal

Experience Triathlon...Live Life

Sponsors

Our very first GOTRIbal believer was Fuel-Belt! They help us with a 30% discount when we need the best products to stay hydrated and fueled while we hike, bike and run around the world!(To learn more about getting your discount as a member, visit the Forum, "The Run" and look for Fuel Belt)

Fuel Belt strongly believes that triathlon is a powerful means to bring out the best in people, from world champions to first-timers looking for a challenge. We’ve partnered with GOTRIbal because it uses this philosophy to harness the power that women have to encourage others, test themselves and break down barriers that may have seemed insurmountable before.”

Our official "keep your face outta the sun" (hat and visor) sponsor is Headsweats! Headsweats is giving us a number of hats and visors to GIVE AWAY to girls who grow our TRIbes around the world! They are also supporting us by selling their Velocity Visors and Race hats to us with a little bit of a price break so GOTRIbal can afford to buy more at a better price -- why is that good, you ask?

It costs you less to buy one! And...

...it helps GOTRIbal grow and build in more cool services and programs so we'll be around for girls in the future!

"We are a small company that is completely dedicated to providing GOTRIbal with the highest quality custom headwear and the best customer service. We are completely devoted to making sure you and the entire team is happy with what you receive from us. We are grassroots, just like you, so there is no “corporate-ness.” I will be taking care of you personally so you can contact me with any questions, comments, concerns etc. I know that as we both grow together we can offer each other bigger and better things. Also, as a woman athlete, I will make sure that you receive the best custom designs and headwear we have to offer.

( I WILL not let something leave our warehouse to you that I would not wear myself! -- Marianne P.)

The swim is hard enough. The kicking, grabbing, thrashing.... why worry about how easy (or hard) it is to turn your arms around and around a million times in a row, too?

XTERRA, the world's fastest most flexible wetsuit manufacturer, are sponsoring GOTRIbal in order that our girls are more happy, feeling faster, and getting better every time we swim.

What's more? They want to help us build our network and our organization's sustainability by giving us the opportunity to make a little bit of revenue off of each XTERRA wetsuit sold to our girls.

Why is this important?

Well, GOTRIbal aims to be around a long time. And offer more and more programs and services that go beyond triathlon; to help us all create huge success for ourselves and our families.

And if we fizzle out and die, well, then we can't realize our mission of becoming THE RESOURCE for women to tackle and challenge things that stand in the way of their success - on or off the course!

The awesome deal that XTERRA is offering ONLY to GOTRIbal girls:

a. 50% off the Vector and Vortex wetsuits ALL OF THE TIME. This is NOT a seasonal or promotional deal.

b. A special, always-on, demo/rental fee of $35! Instead of $49....

c. 60 day return policy (vs their normal 30 day return policy!)

To get 50% off, go to www.xterrawetsuits.com/special and Type in GOTRI (it's case sensitive, so use upper case letters)

To get a $35 rental / demo fee, type in TRIBERENT.

Right now, until Sept 1, you can get a Vortex 3 John for $99!! Or a Full for $149!!

Questions or need help? Call 858.565.9500 and choose option 1 or 2 for service and sales. Let them know you're from GOTRIbal and ask for Victoria!

Onward!

47 y.o Newbie, Year In Review

Well, I can’t believe I did it – wow. Ok. Let me have my Miss America/Grammy/Emmy/Etc… moment: “I would like to thank, God, Sara Landholt and her Ironmakeover blog which led me to Tanya and a super-fantastic organization, GoTRIbal”.

– It seems like just a short time ago that I stumbled across Sara’s page which had a link to the GoTRIbal site. For all of those women out there where triathlon is second nature, I want to tell it from the mountain – that GoTRIbal has been an inspiration to me – I l… Continue

Toni

Woohoo - I am now Half an Ironman!

Eighteen weeks of solid training is now behind me and I have now completed my first half ironman - and boy does it feel good! My goal, and that of my girlfriend Leigh, was simply to finish and to finish within the course time limit of 7 hours. 18 weeks ago that seemed pretty daunting. While I'm strong on the bike, I'm a slow swimmer (and had never attempted a distance anywhere near 2km) and while I've run several half marathons and one full marathon, run speed is definitely not my strong suit!… Continue

What a day !

Today I got up at my usual time of 5:30 am. Got my big girl, fitness trainer pants on and my Manchester Road Race long sleeve tee. Suddenly, all the pre-race jitters hit me pretty hard. For the first time I was doing a race entirely alone.I had resigned myself to the fact that there will be times this will happen. You will have plans (as I did this time) to run with a few friends and for whatever reasons they will be unable to participate. As I moved towards the line up for those who were unseede… Continue

My first 5K

Well...I did it! Yesterday I competed in my first ever run race, a 5K. My goal was to run the whole thing and I did. It was wonderful to see my mom and my daughter at the finish line. My daughter actually wrote me a note to keep with me as I ran...I (heart) 154-->my number. I kept in my left glove, a direct line to my heart. The influence I'm having on her was and is my reason to keep going. She is seeing a strong woman who is setting goals and accomplishing her dreams. What a day...
