Testimonials

There are lots of reasons the women and girls in this organization love GOTRIbal.

There's no point in keeping that a secret.

The coolest thing happened before I left work for the gym I decided to log in to this site..... The amazing thing is all the messages that were sitting there for me to read......I was so ready to get in the gym and first worked out with my trainer and then I took all those messages with me to the treadmill and they kept running thru my mind.....strangers who were kind to leave words that were the fuel I needed to push past the mile mark when everything in me said ok your done.... I just wanted to let you guys know that this whole GOTRIbal organization is AMAZING. We are 2 girls in France, trying to grow in the next few months...We never knew each other before but I went down to visit Rachel in Narbone from Paris and we spent an amazing 2 days together sharing the same passion for this beautiful sport. It is SO GOD when you meet someone that you never met before but you feel after 10 minutes that this girls is just as crazy as you are, is not giving you this "Are you crazy girl" look when you go out biking in 95 degreess, then you go to the pool...bu tactually she does the same, and then you do it together!

I can't express how happy I am that I saw the link a few months ago on Chrissie's blog!

Anyway as you would be saying; Onward and upward!!!!!!!!!

For me, the decision to GOTRIbal was very easy. It brings women together to inspire, empower, and mentor one another. Mentorship is what initially called me to GOTRIbal. I love to help and inspire others to live their dreams, especially through sport.

Everyone can do really amazing things but many people just need someone to believe in them and give them guidance. GOTRIbal does both of those things. Since joining GOTRIbal, I feel like I have found the most amazing group of women anywhere/everywhere on the planet. I have found more purpose in my everyday life and training. With every training swim, bike, and run I do, I am thinking about how I can incorporate more GOTRIbal members. Almost every day I am finding there is some body I meet that I can share GOTRIbal with, and I seize every opportunity that arises because I LOVE GOTRIbal! It has been a long time since I have found something that I believe in so much. Every experience I have had with GOTRIbal has been amazing.

I truly believe this is one of the greatest things that has happened to the sport of triathlon in a very long time. GOTRIbal is going to inspire a new generation of young women who are watching their moms, sisters, aunts, and friends all be transformed by this great sport and community. - San Diego TRIbe member

From my own experience, I found it can be a bit difficult when you first start out in tri as a newbe. It can be too intimidating to join a local tri club as these clubs can be very serious and competitive. That's where I think GOTRIbal could be really fantastic. Encouraging women who are new to this sport to just go for it and not think about how much better everyone else is. - UK TRIbe member

GOTRIbal is my little Triathlon family, because after all these years, I know who I am again. I was just telling someone how cool it is, that in the past 2 years that I have been searching for myself, I found the 17 year old girl I remember. I believe in this group because I am able to connect with so many women from so many different places and all walks of life. I get to hear their stories, their battles, their accomplishments, and I realize that I really am capable of anything.

This group of women is so powerful in that we provide each other support through so many avenues. Whether you need someone to train with, someone ringing cowbells and screaming for you at a race, contemplating your race schedule, someone to be by your side and help you feel comfortable in the open water for the first time, someone to reach out to for just about ANYTHING, you’ll find her in GOTRIbal.

The coolest thing is I believe this group will become much more, so much that I can’t even wrap my mind around it to explain it. It will be bigger than you, bigger than me, bigger than triathlon itself. - San Diego TRIbe member

I heard the radio interview with you and Chrissie Wellington and thought, "Yes! This is exactly what I've been looking for!" Salt Lake City has a great contingency of women who already Tri and newbies alike. I'm pretty involved with the fitness community here and always thought it was sad we didn't have an organized group of women that could both train together and share knowledge about the sport. GoTribal is the perfect medium to make this happen! I'm forever running into women who want to know more about the sport or who are looking for training partners, and now I have a place to send them! Very exciting! - Salt Lake TRIbe member

As much as other triathlon websites and magazines like to think of themselves as all-inclusive they really seemed to be geared more toward men. I used to participate in triathlon forums on different pages (mostly IMC) but they often ended up be discouraging toward input/questions from women.

I'm impressed with the vibe at GOTRIbal ... nice to see a forum so accomodating and encouraging to newbies and triathletes of all levels.

47 y.o Newbie, Year In Review

Well, I can’t believe I did it – wow. Ok. Let me have my Miss America/Grammy/Emmy/Etc… moment: “I would like to thank, God, Sara Landholt and her Ironmakeover blog which led me to Tanya and a super-fantastic organization, GoTRIbal”.

– It seems like just a short time ago that I stumbled across Sara’s page which had a link to the GoTRIbal site. For all of those women out there where triathlon is second nature, I want to tell it from the mountain – that GoTRIbal has been an inspiration to me – I l… Continue

Woohoo - I am now Half an Ironman!

Eighteen weeks of solid training is now behind me and I have now completed my first half ironman - and boy does it feel good! My goal, and that of my girlfriend Leigh, was simply to finish and to finish within the course time limit of 7 hours. 18 weeks ago that seemed pretty daunting. While I'm strong on the bike, I'm a slow swimmer (and had never attempted a distance anywhere near 2km) and while I've run several half marathons and one full marathon, run speed is definitely not my strong suit!… Continue

What a day !

Today I got up at my usual time of 5:30 am. Got my big girl, fitness trainer pants on and my Manchester Road Race long sleeve tee. Suddenly, all the pre-race jitters hit me pretty hard. For the first time I was doing a race entirely alone.I had resigned myself to the fact that there will be times this will happen. You will have plans (as I did this time) to run with a few friends and for whatever reasons they will be unable to participate. As I moved towards the line up for those who were unseede… Continue

My first 5K

Well...I did it! Yesterday I competed in my first ever run race, a 5K. My goal was to run the whole thing and I did. It was wonderful to see my mom and my daughter at the finish line. My daughter actually wrote me a note to keep with me as I ran...I (heart) 154-->my number. I kept in my left glove, a direct line to my heart. The influence I'm having on her was and is my reason to keep going. She is seeing a strong woman who is setting goals and accomplishing her dreams. What a day...
