DORISIMO! aka "Doris" and.. "Karen"

Well...I did it! Yesterday I competed in my first ever run race, a 5K. My goal was to run the whole thing and I did. It was wonderful to see my mom and my daughter at the finish line. My daughter actually wrote me a note to keep with me as I ran...I (heart) 154-->my number. I kept in my left glove, a direct line to my heart. The influence I'm having on her was and is my reason to keep going. She is seeing a strong woman who is setting goals and accomplishing her dreams. What a day...

So, I am waiting for my marathon to come and go! It is scheduled for December 6th and afterwards, I am going to take 2 weeks off from running. I want to replace it with swimming! Does anyone know of someone that can teach me how to swim no matter what level I am at? Let me know and thank you in advance!

Less than a week to go with a wee bit of packing to do. Flying to an Ironman always has its challenges and sometimes I think that the packing is worse than any bad training session. I have my trusty checklist that I have used before to ensure that I have everything (and a few spares). I also find that I am somewhat distracted and the checklist helps to keep me focused on the task at hand. (Distracted I mean, looking for my car keys in my purse when they are in my hand - geez!)

GREAT way for a bunch of us to get together for a big race, have a BLAST!, and set some records!! (First time Half, PR's, etc!) + a little wine drinking around Sonoma? (perhaps a wee bit in your water bottle on the bike course?)
